I will start by expressing thanks for your visit and taking time to read my page.

I understand what it’s like to be at crossroads in life, feeling uncertain about the future or struggling to understand thoughts and emotions. I’ve experienced those moments myself facing uncertainty, change and feeling stuck. It’s something we all encounter at some point. Life can throw all sorts our way – stress, loss, decisions to make, relationships, low mood, anxieties – and sometimes it can all feel a bit too much.  You might be feeling lost, unsure, unmotivated or simply wanting and hoping things can be different, though not knowing how – we’re human – This realisation inspired me to become a therapist many moons ago.

I know that finding the right therapist can be a challenge in itself, but I truly believe that with the right therapeutic environment, we all have the potential to change our lives, even when it seems impossible.

Having gone through my own challenges and career transitions, I now help others who are in similar situations regardless of their background offering support that is rooted in both personal experience and extensive professional training.

As a qualified and experienced therapist, I’ve dedicated many years to assisting individuals at their crossroads, providing that safe space for reflection, healing and personal growth and development.

In my other long-standing role as a counselling tutor, I train the next aspiring therapists drawing on years of experience, whilst In my own practice, I incorporate techniques from Rogerian therapy (PCT) Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to create a personalised approach for each client. This allows me to adapt to their needs, whether they seek a nurturing, empathetic environment or a more structured, goal-oriented plan.

My passion for this work stems from my sincere belief in the transformative power of human connection, especially in our distraction-filled world. Whether you have a specific issue or a vague sense of discomfort, I’m here to guide you through those emotions. Together, we will explore your life experiences, gaining insight into your unique situation, and empower you to move forward with confidence and clarity.

I have had the privilege of working with a wide array of individuals from different backgrounds, and I have a special passion for supporting men and young people, particularly those who find it hard to express their vulnerabilities or seek help. This means I am here for anyone, at any time.

PCT

Person-Centred Therapy (PCT) is a humanistic approach that values the client’s viewpoint, highlighting empathy, unconditional positive regard and genuineness. This approach emphasises a safe, non-judgmental environment for exploration, promoting self-awareness, personal growth and acceptance. It is a non-directive approach that facilitates a collaborative journey towards finding answers. Your the expert in your life.

ACT

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a mindfulness-oriented approach that guides people to acknowledge their thoughts and feelings instead of fighting against them. It promotes the idea of welcoming discomfort, understanding personal values and taking intentional steps forward. ACT aids in leading a fulfilling life while navigating the unavoidable hurdles such as anxiety, depression and stress.

CBT

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a systematic and research-backed approach that aims to recognise and alter unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours. By understanding the connection between thoughts, emotions and actions, CBT encourages more positive thinking to enhance emotional health. It is commonly utilised for managing anxiety, depression and stress providing effective coping strategies.
